What kind of shop is it?The Wish Collection is an exclusive retailer of super-luxury imported goods, including linen and menswear from Italy, glassware from France and a range of men’s and ladies grooming products from Britain.
Tell us the story behind the name of the shop.We focused on the aspirational value of our brands and the desire to be associated with the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Everyone has a wish list; we believe that all our products fall into this category. With a bit of help from a good friend , we came up with the name Wish. We decided to combine the name of the corporate company Cazzi Collection to create The Wish Collection.
When did it open?We opened in mid September.
Who runs ! it?Caron Koonin owns and runs the shop with two assistants.
What were you doing before?The business has been in existence for 10 years. We originally started off selling ladies clothing and accessories from our home. Over time, the business grew and over the past four years has acquired several agencies, including menswear, linen, grooming accessories and glassware. We operated by appointment only for a period and the goods were sold from our exclusive showroom in Parktown North.
What items or brands do you stock?We have five product categories: menswear, linen, glassware, grooming products and lifestyle products. Products include Frette, the leading linen company in the world, Baccarat, the world’s top glassware company, and Corneliani, which is rated in the top six in the world of men’s clothing.
Who designed your shop?Adrian Morris from DZM Space in conjunction with the owners, Caron and Wayne Koonin.!
Describe your customers.Our customers tend to! be weal thy individuals who are well travelled and have discerning taste. They have an eye for quality and appreciate good service and settle for nothing less than the best. Our shop has a little something for everyone, whether it is a gift for a dinner party or a special occasion, to something super luxurious for the home, airplane or yacht!
Describe your shop in a sentence.A mixture of the finest from Milan, Paris and London in the heart of Sandton — it can’t get much better than that!
