First Coast Pilot Club of St. Augustine is selling $10 raffle tickets for a $1,000 value five-day cruise aboard the Carnival Fascination departing Jacksonville on Sept. 20-25, 2008. The cruise has been donated by Flamingo Travel. Only 300 tickets will be sold and the drawing will be held on May 13, 2008. All proceeds will go to First Coast Pilot Club scholarships. Activities at VFW Post 2391:
* Tonight the post has its House Committee meeting.
* Tuesday at 7 p.m. is Team Trivia; Thursday is the darts competition at 7 p.m.
* The post serves lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday, and the kitchen stays open all afternoon until 7 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays with bar specials.
* On Friday and Saturday, "DJ Eddie J" will entertain in the Canteen from 7 to 11 p.m.
* "DJ Eddie J" is back to play the Tiki Bar (weather permitting)! on Sunday afternoon.

Slow food meeting
The next meeting of the Slow Food First Coast convivium will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at First Coast Technical Institute, Building C., 2980 Collins Ave., St. Augustine. * The St. Augustine Orchid Society will hold its annual Christmas Party at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at the home of SAOS President Charlie and Carol Wesley. Fred ! Keefer of Orchids by Del-Rei, will be auctioning blooming orchids from Hawaii, and there will be a silent orchid auction as well.
